Curriculum Vitae Kerstin Fest
After completing my A-level equivalent in
Rheda, Germany, I spent one year in Paris, working and studying
French at the Sorbonne University. On my return to Germany,
I began my studies in English, French and Spanish at the Academy
for Business and Administration in Lippstadt, Germany. The
course consisted of translation, business studies, administration,
civilisation and conversation in all three languages. As part
of the course, I also studied at the Paris Chamber of Commerce
and at the University of Westminster in London.
On graduating in 1994, I moved to London where I began my
career, working first in a translation agency and later as
a recruitment consultant for international and multilingual
personnel. In total I spent 5 years in the UK. I left London
for family reasons and moved to Italy. For more or less nine
months of the year, my family life takes me all over the world,
enabling me to actively maintain my language skills and my
knowledge of the various cultures associated with these languages
- indispensable knowledge for any professional translator.
